Jordan is a southern transplant - North Carolina & Georgia proud - and feels blessed to call Chicago a home away from home. Funny because he had plans on returning to Atlanta and carving out his career as an actor/writer/teaching artist after receiving his MFA in Acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (c/o 2018). As a lover of traveling, choosing to experiment with the Chicago market vs returning to the city where he got his BA in Drama at Morehouse College (c/o 2015) seemed like the more enticing expedition for the then 25 year old graduate.
Since then, Jordan has found a way to make Chicago work for him, rather than work for Chicago. Some of his theatre credits in and around the city include Sunset Baby (Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre), ALOFT (Collaboraction), and the world premieres of Ezekiel’s Wheel & Ride Or Die (MPAACT) and Relentless (u/s) (TimeLine Theatre Company) at both Goodman Theatre and Theater Wit. Regionally, he has worked with The Nashville Shakespeare Festival and Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. Note that Jordan had his short-play The Devil Taketh produced by The Imposters Theatre as part of their Footholds Vol. 3 series!
Short-film features are DOWNSTATE by Jordan Tragash and himself and CIG by Jordan Tragash.
Within Theatre L’Acadie, Jordan has directed a few stage-readings for the company’s new works series In Bloom - Stark Naked by Quinn D. Eli and the givens or the futility of forgiveness by natyna bean.
Busy, yes, but this car enthusiast also finds time for leisure activities like weekly basketball around the city with friends, kicking back and viewing Apartment Therapy, Never Too Small, & Secret Base, tweaking his vegan baked mac ‘n cheese, and looking after his slowly growing “jungle” of plants.
